Amazing how time flys by...

Hi there!
It's unbelievable that this term has flown by so fast!! My paper is turned in, and I am not anxiously awaiting my grade . I hate this part... the waiting! One more final and then a week of rest.

On the personal front, my daughters wedding is 4 weeks away! Yesterday we traveled to the city they are moving too after the wedding and signed the lease on their apartment. We also had a meeting with their admissions counselor at the school they will both be attending. My daughter is going to be a pastry chef and my soon to be, son in law, is getting his degree in industrial design.
They are very excited!!! So many changes for them and we really are thrilled for them to begin their life together. I'm sad they are moving, and will miss them, but a quick 4 hour drive will have me spoiling them rotten!!!

The marathon training is going well. We are 8 weeks out and tomorrow is a 15 mile run. Miles ramp up from there!

So between work, training, wedding and school, it's been a busy busy summer! I have enjoyed my classes and learned so much from each of them! It was fun to create a blog and learn different forms of writing.

Have a wonderful day all!!!

Oh what a crazy week!

Do you ever have a sinking feeling as you look to the week ahead? My coming week is daunting... work is crazy, training is getting more intense, the wedding is less then 5 weeks away, I have my paper due on Tuesday.... I'm starting to get that panicked feeling.... anyone ever do that?

I know I have to breathe. I know I have to work completely on my paper, as that is priority one. Then work, then wedding, and lastly training, which is frustrating for me, cuz training usually gets put on the back burner.

I am going to try to relax though and know that I can only do, what I can do.... if I keep telling myself that, I might start to believe it. I am too much of a perfectionist and when schedules get crazy like this is where I start to freak out a bit!!

I just have to remind myself to eat right, hydrate, and breathe, breathe, breathe.... it will all come together... right???

I love Saturdays!

I was able to sleep in a bit as we didn't have our long run today, we did 13 miles on Thursday instead. However, this is the last weekend we don't have a long run. We altered our schedule a bit to accommodate people being out of town. That will end now though, as it is really difficult to run long and get to work for me during the week. I find that I do not do very well running long when I have other commitments to get to. We ramp up from here... 14, 15, 18, 20 and so on. I love the long run when my head is in the right space.

When I can relax and enjoy my surroundings, when I can let my mind go and just follow my feet. It is peaceful, it is quiet, it is for me, freedom. I enjoy testing my ability, seeing how far I can go, and how well. I feel very accomplished knowing I ran 15 miles that day.

Do you have anything you do that you love like that? Anything that takes you to that place of peace and joy? I hope you do, we all need that in our lives.

Run happy, Run free....

Ahhhh.... some rest....

However, apparently 'sleeping in' for me is about 5:45am!! Good grief!! But I'll take it as long as I feel refreshed. this week has been busy, but heading into the weekend, I see some nice relaxing time in my future.

I am pretty caught up on school work and am excited for the week ahead to read the peer reviews of my paper in Comp II. I really enjoy the revision stage and seeing how my paper comes together in a more clear and defined way. There is much I need to do to it, but I enjoy the process. In nutrition, we have a wonderful chapter discussing caloric needs for the body, over nutrition and under nutrition. I love this aspect of weight management. I work with people each day to help them reach their weight loss and fitness goals, so this information is right up my alley.

Marathon training is moving along beautifully. We did our long run yesterday, as many of my runners have crazy weekends. We did 12 miles. It was a struggle for me, as my heart rate kept spiking. Not sure why. I will have to watch that a bit closer and see how my stress level and nutrition impact that.

Wedding plans are coming along. We are at the 7 week mark today and have a meeting with the photographer and many errands to run. Fridays seem to be the 'wedding day' for us as both my daughter and I are off work.

Well, off to start the busy yet fun day... Happy Friday!

So much going on....

how do I get everything done???

Do you ever feel like you have so many things to do you just don't know where to start? This week has been crazy busy... work, marathon training, wedding stuff, lots of school work in both classes...

The wedding is only 8 weeks away! Things are going well... just getting really busy with dress fittings, venue meetings, flowers, caterer, DJ, invitations going out.... and on and on it goes!! It's great and we are so excited, but we've never planned a wedding before and it is a lot of work... but in 8 short weeks it will be time to party!!!

Marathon training is going good... today was 10.5 miles which went just fine.. I would have liked to be faster.

School - unfortunately I missed Thursdays seminar, so I feel out of touch. I've never missed a seminar in 3 terms. We had the dress fitting though, and I had to go... So today is school work, school work, school work. I need to do seminar option 2 and working on my paper.... I am really hoping my paper comes together well. Kind of nervous about it!

Hope everyone is doing good... time to de stress a bit!!

Whew... what a weekend!

We had a great weekend! Long, emotional, fun, all wrapped up into one. We hosted my daughters bridal shower. It was alot more work then I thought it would be, but it was so worth it. She was showered with love and beautiful gifts from amazing family and friends.

My in laws traveled all the way from L.A. to come to the shower, which was so special.

One thing that I realized though is that come wedding day I'm screwed!! ... I am sooo tired after the shower and so spent emotionally that the wedding is going to be 100 times more draining.

Then today, I ran 10 miles. My time wasn't so great mainly cuz I had only had about 3 hours of sleep... and of course had my fill of fattening food from the shower... but I still did it and it felt good to finish... next week will be better no doubt!

So it's with a smile on my face, tired and satisfied that I end my wonderful weekend....

Happy 4th of July and a HUGE THANK YOU to all of you who are serving our country! Truly we are blessed to be Americans!!

Our running group went on a 7 mile hilly run today. Now the mileage starts to really ramp up! I'm very excited for our group and we are adding more people each week. It's awesome to see so many wanting to better themselves and challenge themselves in this way. Next week is 10 miles!! Woo hoo!!

I have been doing school work most of the day, wanting to get everything done, and to get a jump start on Week 5 in my classes. Next weekend is my daughters Bridal shower, and we have family coming from out of town and I want to be able to spend time with them. We are very excited for the wedding. It is in 10 weeks. Please feel free to check out their website at www.mywedding.com/caseysamantha

Have a great weekend!!
